Dartmouth She Devils

We continue to see growth at most levels and are excited for this upcoming season. Many of our high performance groups have been in the gymnasiums and indoor facilities across the province and we have been running both learn to pitch and high performance pitching sessions since December.

We are also offering two more pitching foundation lessons on May 2nd & May 9th at Oceanview Elementary from 6:00-8:00 these lessons are free of charge but we ask that you bring a donation for a local food pantry each week!

Softball Nova Scotia will be holding pitching and catching clinics on May 19th for ages 9-17 - details for this session are at the top of the following link and the fee for the clinic is $25.00

As most of our house league programs continue to open their doors in the upcoming weeks you will see emails from coaches. I also encourage you to follow our facebook page as we try to mass communicate with as many people as possible and sometimes this tool can be the communication tool we lean on the most.

We are going to have a Digital AGM This sunday May 5th at 7:30 - (meeting invite will be emailed to this yrs membership on Sunday) We will be looking for a few people who can step up to help run our organization both as coaches and as board members. I would very much like to stress that you do not need to have a softball IQ in order to get involved -- It certainly is important if you would like to coach, but there are many non-softball positions where we could use the help!

We continue to have a very large Learn to Play Program between the U7 and U9 groups. The U11 and U13 groups will have both an AA and A teams as well as having a large number of kids playing house ball and working on their skillset! U15 and U17 both will have AA teams and we are almost to the numbers we need for a U15/17 house league team as well!! I want to stress to everyone that our mission continues to be to keep growing and making sure that every girl has the opportunity to receive all the benefits that sport has to offer, no matter the skill level or age. For those that have not registered this season - please do so ASAP - as spots are starting to become limited. For those of you that are on to other sports and will not be returning to us, we wish you all the best, and if there is anything I can do to help you at any point, please reach out.

We are also working on putting structure into our league play -- combined with the Comets, Gold Sox, and Highland Park are working to build out our leagues for the growth of the game in the HRM.

We have a few fields back to us this year that were off limits last including Ira Settle in Westphal - There has been a major renovation on that diamond and we expect to have ball games on that diamond as many nights as possible.

I would also like to single out the athletes and staff members that have been selected to the U15 and U17 Team Nova Scotia Programs - we are proud of each of your accomplishments and we know that you will do great things on behalf of yourself, The She Devils, and Nova Scotia.

Lastly we will be hosting the U13 Eastern Canadian Championships at the Mt Edward Complex this August 22-25th -- we will be looking for many volunteers in the next few months to help run this significant undertaking. The HRM has not hosted a girls event this large in a very long time and we hope that we can rely on parents at all age levels of our organization to foster the community type event we are looking to host!

Cheers,

Chilli
